Welcome to the Urban Sprouts Blog!
Hello everyone and welcome to our new blog!
We are continuously working to help you improve your relationship with your plants and now we are beyond excited to announce that we will be writing weekly blog posts aiming at helping you with your urban jungle dreams and staying in touch with all that we do here at the shop!
We currently have 3 writers working to bring you one blog post every week. Meet our writers!
Urban Sprouts Owner
Jen started Urban Sprouts in the summer of 2015, after years of working in small businesses and earning a BA from the University of Washington in Environmental Sciences, specializing in Urban Agriculture. A life-long plant and small business lover, Urban Sprouts is the result of her combined interests ranging from all things green, to connecting with customers, crafting, learning new things, merchandising and small business operation. Jen enjoys running Urban Sprouts, spending quality time with friends and family, cooking, camping, reading and exploring!
Urban Sprouts Marketing Team
Megan has been an important member of the Urban Sprouts team since 2016! Her love of plants, compassionate nature, and background in marketing has made her a force to be reckoned with. You may have seen her around the shop in the past, but recently she has found her place behind the scenes helping with social media and marketing! Megan has a BA in Marketing, has traveled all over, and loves dogs, crafting, exploring the PNW, and of course plants!
Fox and Pheonix Records / Urban Sprouts Supporter
Abi is an enthusiastic beginner in the plant world and avid supporter of Urban Sprouts! She uses her BA in Social Sciences and writing experience to share her journey in learning about all the different plants and various topics from our shop from the perspective of a newbie plant mom and Urban Sprouts customer!
Abi is a full time folk musician with Fox and Pheonix Records who spends her free time creating beautifully-written pieces for her musical career, sharing her experiences with her new love of plants, and confesses to spending “more time than I should admit looking at beautiful bohemian bedrooms crammed with tropical plants.”
Expect our topics to cycle between plant spotlights, plant care techniques and tips, new and exciting products or artists in the shop, and upcoming events! Some future topics are: How to know when your plant needs a repot, Calathea – the tropical shrubbery we can all get behind, 4 reasons we love lotion bars, and the Valentine’s Day gift guide! Our first official blog launches this Friday 1/12/18!
We really hope this becomes a helpful and empowering collection of articles and information. Please feel free to suggest topics or let us know how we can make this a great experience for you!
