The extravagant Tillandsia xeroegraphica is sure to be the star of your air plant collection! This relatively fast growing (for an air plant) species has beautiful curly tendrils that resemble a perfectly curled lock of hair! The silvery sage-y green color can sometimes turn pink under the right lighting conditions or before it flowers. There are cases of xerographica’s growing to be feet across and decades old! Water by soaking face down (the top not the root end) in water for about 20 minutes every 1 – 2 weeks. Fertilize with an air plant fertilizer spray about once a month and keep in indirect light (the brighter the better). Be sure no water is trapped between the leaves after watering to avoid rot. We recommend allowing it to dry face down before returning it to its spot.
