With it’s thin spiky leaves that grow out flat and sideways from the center Schiedeana is a funky and fun edition to your air plant collection. Native to the semi-arid parts of South America, Schiedeana can be found growing on the sides of cacti or bushes on steep dry slopes in their natural habitat. Like all air plants, Schiedeana don’t absorb nutrients from soil, instead their roots are for attaching purposes and don’t soak up nutrients. Keep your Schiedeana happy by spraying with water approximately once a week and fertilizing with a spray air plant fertilizer every few months. Schiedeana prefer warm dry environments and will be healthiest if kept in bright indirect light.
