The fine haired Filifolia is a dainty species of air plant originating from parts of Costa Rica and Mexico. Their wispy hairs grow outwards from a bulb like structure in the center. These plants like a very humid environment but do need air circulation to avoid rot. Mist to coat the leaves 2 – 3 times a week or soak about once a week and apply a liquid air plant fertilizer to the leaves about once a month. Keep in a warm area with indirect sunlight. Try housing your Filifolia in your bathroom, maybe on a cute tray next to the soap dish or a fun terrarium in the window!
